Wind continued strong until 20.00hrs last night then gradually faded to very light but generally from the north.  This is when I needed my Electric Autohelm as the was insufficient wind for the wind vane steering.  Had several goes at getting the new one to work and took the old one apart to dry it out as it was now a beautiful sunny day after all the wind cloud and rain of the last few days. The old one tried to work then stopped again and i could see it steaming up inside, might have a go again tomorrow if it sunny.  Gallingly a Jester, a Kelt 28 Lucy, sailed through me and disappeared over the horizon with spinnaker and autohelm working fine He was the guy, john Margarson who was carrying 3 Autohelms, he obviously knew something!  I can't get the spinnaker up without some means of steering!  Very frustrating!!  Paul has been on to Raymarine for me and I am hoping they will tell me that the new one is OK but needs some alteration to the set up, fingers crossed!?

Miles sailed in the last 24hrs 158 (most of that was done yesterday when I was doing a regular 7 to 8 knots) trip now 711, CMG 549 miles from Plymouth.
