Good day one and all, First mate Sam writing in today on behalf of the motley crew of EH01. Two days ago at 2pm we crossed into 42 degrees West, our line signifying halfway across the ocean between the long distant Cape Verde Islands and our destination in St Lucia. Affectionately known as 'The Beer Line' we apdtly celebrated at sundown with a can of chilled Gran Canarian brew. By this point however we were under engine having made the decision earlier to drop down out of the racing division into the cruising division due to a lack of a vital component to our success - the wind.

The blue spinnaker, named 'Mary' by all [ I don't know why but apparently it just looks like it should be called 'Mary'] has been up and down since making the most of what breeze we do have, averaging at around 10 knots.

We're still moving along quite nicely though; enjoying the sunshine and tropical climate that make it very easy to forget that it is December! Only one drama yesterday when a rather rude fish decided to take a bite of our fishing gear and swim off with it, not allowing us to drag him on board, kill him and eat him for dinner!

From all on board, until next time, Ciao!
