The first challenge is to pass Europort (Rotterdam) one of the busiest ports on the planet.

Upon approach Reed`s is invaluable with all it`s advise on how to cross the fairway of Europort.

You have to ask for permission from traffic control (Maas entrance VHF Ch-3) to cross the fairway which is done perpendicular to the routes of in/outgoing traffic.

The crossing starts from buoy MN-1 and goes over to bouy MV.

We were allowed to cross direct upon arrival allthough advised to go aft of an incoming supertanker with restricted manouverability due to deep draft
