Kattegatt, the sea on the westcoast of Sweden is basically an extension of the Northern Atlantic and subsequently with all it´s marine flora and fauna. That is also the reason why the Swedish westcoast still today is much more alive than the much longer Swedish eastcoast.
Fishing is still an active business and many coastal societies still rely on fishing as their base for living.
On passage through the archipelago of the westcoast you will pass many active and charmy fishing villages. Leaving Marstrand we headed 40Nm north for Smögen, one of the more famous fishingcommunities allthougfh today depending very much on tourism. Coming here early June you can enjoy the athmosphere but in peakseason mid July you might wonder if you made landfall in a discoteque.
