The fuelsystem of a Diesel Duck 462 is a history of it´s own. Carrying 7600liters of fuel distributed between 6 tanks the domestic fuelpiping is complex.
In the centre of it all is a Walbro fueltransfer pump mainly used for transferring diesel to the 1525liter cruisetank (into which no fuel enters without being polished through a fuelpolishfilter first),but also used for transfer between different tanks and levelling the boat as well as,if needed, pressurizing the fuelsystem (bleed air for example).
It´s a complex system to learn but once you can handle it it´s a well working system and except for leaking gaskets around fueltanks, never caused me any problem.
During my 5 years I have filled up fuel 3 times (Turkey,Gibraltar and St Petersburgh). With the amount of fuel needed fuelprice is of great concern well worth visiting countries with attractive pricing.
