Waking up early departing Sandhamn after sunrise it was a couple of hours drive back to Stavsnäs on the mainland.

The Stockholm archipelago consists of over 40.000 islands scattered along a 100Nm stretch of coastline from north to south.

Being very crowded in the summer at this time of the year you will be almost alone. The risk of bad weather is of course much higher but a calm day like this, cruising the archipelago on a boat like Dora Mac is so rewarding.

Still when I was a boy people living in the archipelago were mainly fishermen, but today they have been replaced by a mixture of people working in cyberspace for their daily living.
