With the ambition to pass Dover Strait and Rotterdam/Europort in daylight we departed Boulogne at 18.00hrs knowing we would have to face over 3knots of countercurrent.
With a remnant of the SW gale still up to 20knots against the current we came out to a quite uncomfortable seaway.
When having the strongest countercurrent we only did 2,9 knots over ground and passage of Dover Strait was done partly in darkness.
At this writing moment we have passed the trafficzone of Westerschelde (leading to Antwerpen) and traffic is less intense.
The current has been with us over the night, and wind has decreased considerably giving a much more comfortable ride. The rest of the crew is sleeping and Rotterdam will be passed during lunchtime. E.T.A Vlieland remains early Tuesday morning.
