Title: Palmerston-wow! 18:02.769S 163:11.497W

After our last night out at sea with winds of 17kts from astern we landed in Palmerston at 16.15.What a fantastic atoll!! 700Nm from Bora Bora, one of the most remote islands/atolls of the Cook Islands, this really gives you a feeling of being far far away. You can only reach the island by boat and quite few cruisers come here. The atoll that was found by James Cook 1784,now has 56 inhabitants who are descendants of William Martsters,an Englishman who came here with his 3 polynesian wifes 1860.
We managed to contact the island on VHF,and a boat came out to help us anchor just west of the little settlerment at the west "motu".Tomorrow we will be officially cleared in to the Cook Islands(belonging to New Zealand),and brought ashore to look at the island and see if there are  any medical issues we can assist with.
Just before going snorkeling,we saw 3 humpback whales jumping to port of Tarita.
Dinner was crepes a´la France and a bottle of (bad) Bordeaux, and now it´s time for a bed which is not mowing.
Life is a bitch, and sometimes wonderful.
