After a sad farewell to Antiqua and to those guys still waiting there for some good winds to take them home, We thought we'd have Connie from the Mongoose clinging onto our ankles to stop us leaving, as most of our bank balances were thrown down our throats there, but no all we got was a horn blowing from Red Five.. Desi, with her skipper Stuart and his harem of crew, Andrea, Beth, Kelly & Joyce, sailed down to Guadaloupe, overnight, yes we know it's the wrong way. We just wanted to come here to be abused by the French, buy some nice bread and cheese, oh and drop Andrea off at the airport. We had zilch winds. so motored most of the way, starting our watch system, to get used to it. We are now in Pointe Pitre marina, with all of those, oh so friendly Frenchies. Stuart has been busy with the boring stuff of immigration and cooking sausages for brekkie, Andrea has been busy tidying the boat and blow drying and straightening her hair (much to my envy), Joyce has been busy washing her fancy underwear, Kelly is busy boat fixing and me (Beth), well I'm writing this, singing to Kelly and just pottering, I did pick up a screwdriver and wasn't too sure what to do with it, so gave it to Kelly and put the kettle on. We're all pretty excited about the next couple of months, although Joyce & I have a tinge of terrified-ness, as we're transat virgins, Stuart also has abit of a starry, gazed look on his face and has demanded that he has at least 2 hours a day on watch on his own, to retain some sense of sanity with 4 female crew. Not much else to say, but wanted to write something as the link will have a worldwide audience, so hopefully there'll be more excitment to follow.. More news & pics in the next couple of days.
