Blog Update No 4

So we are now into week 3 and into cruising life, we seamed to be still dogged by breakages mainly through operator error though and all easily fixed.
We have finally got the fridge working properly and it has stopped freezing all its contents, although Stoggs licks are pretty cool!
Talking of which I sense an impending disaster as I am nearing my last packet of Marmite crisps, I had not reckoned on Gary being a convert, he did swear blind before signing on that he did not like Marmite.
The quality of fruit, salad and veg in the Portuguese supermarkets is exceptional and is quite an experience and my Portuguese is benefitting no end.

Our visit to Porto was exceptional such an instant geed feel to the place with the hub being the old town right next to the river mixture of Bath, Edinburgh and Chester lots of Music too,
the pictures offer a better description.
We also visited Lisbon, enough said quite disappointing.
Cascais.
We spend 3 nightrs here at anchor, a real lovely town with a great atmosphere the central square is the hub of the place with many restaurants and live music every night.
The heat is quite exhausting with regular daytime temperatures of 30 deg inland but a more pleasant 24-26 whilst sailing. Today its ideal little or no swell light 10 knots of down wind our spinnaker pulls us along quite happily at 8 knots, our wake trails behind us leaving Cascais shrouded in early morning fog ahead is bright sunshine and our next anchorage Sinnes. Part way through our passage a large splash no more of a cascade, catches my eye behind me  I look again hoping but not believing what I see, a breeching whale bursts into the air I shout to Lynn and Gary five or six more times this huge animals clears the water and sends plumes of water in the air, thank you mother nature. (sorry no pics)
