We’ve had 2 days stuck on board listening day and night to the slop, slop of water being blown up against the stern, the banging of a halyard on a boat 3 doors down, the whee, whee of all the wind generators around us and the moaning of the wind itself.  Then this morning we woke to the bliss of silence – I hadn’t fully appreciated how noise assaults all the senses.   Today, suddenly, the cloud has broken up, the sun’s shining and the sky is clear blue again.  It’s a chance to have all the windows open and to go for a walk followed by lunch in the cockpit.  The change is all the more precious because the wind’s coming back on Monday so it’s time to make sure there’s enough to eat on board – I feel a trip to Morrisons coming on!
