Another change of plan

Wednesday – a new day and a new berth, we’ve moved across to the next pontoon so we’re now in the right size berth, bows to the pontoon and bows to the prevailing wind, so much more comfortable.  We’ve also had to make some interesting decisions as there are still high winds and big seas twixt here and the Canaries and the ‘window of opportunity’ to get there is running out fast.  It’s a 700 mile journey and we wouldn’t set out with unsettled weather, especially as much of our kit is still untested.   The alternative is to over-winter here but both marinas are full with boats parking up for the winter.  We thought we’d ask anyway, and someone had phoned in an hour previously to cancel their booking.  Help, an almost immediate decision needed but we’ve got a good deal, so this is home until the beginning of April.   We will over-winter here, enjoy some day sailing out in the Straits and then make a plan B for next year.  I can’t decide whether I’m relieved, sad or just resigned – a mixture of all three I think.  So, here are photos of ‘home’ from the cockpit.
