Alaska National Wildlife Refuge area.
A protected area in the Aleutian chains includes 2,500 islands, rocks and costal headlands. It's length is equivalent to the distance from California to Georgia.
40 million seabirds fly to the park. Murres, Storm Petrels, Horned Puffins, Parakeet Aucklets and Red Legged Kitiwakes add to the scenary with Steler Sea loons, Otters.
Russians arrived here in the 1700s seeking fur and subjugated Natives and slaughtered Sea Otters and Fur Seal. The introduction of foxes and rats upset the natural environment and pose a treat up to these days.
In 1867 the americans purchased Alaska from the Russians and continued the outrages the the already fragile wildlife.
The region was an intensive stage during World War II and later the military tested 3 underground nuclear bombs on Amchitka.
