Miyanoura

Tuesday the 2nd of March the wind and waves had calmed down enough for us to depart for our 135 NM leg to Yakushima.
The wind was of course on the nose and the engine was running the whole trip that took us about 25 hours. We had the main up mostly to dampen the rolling in the sea.
In the night the wind died completely.
Our biggest problem was that both our autopilots have given up and we had to handstear all the way.
This is a big problem that I have to solv before we leave Japan.

We arrived in Miyanoura at about 11 am. on Thursday morning. We tied up behind the very big concrete harbour walls. It feels a bit like being in a bunker.

Yakushima is a beautiful Island and a world heritage. We are going to explore the island tomorrow. We settled for today with exploring the main town Miyanoura. A very nice place and lots off backpackers, the most we have seen so far. The trecking around the numerous mountain tops is supposed to be something special.

More about Yakushima soon.

All is well,
Lars, Karl and Anna.
