The island of Hispaniola is host to 2 countries: Haiti on the Western side and the Dominican Republic on the Eastern side. We are currently about halfway along the Northern side of Hispaniola and can faintly make out the light coming from Puerto Plata's lighthouse. Less clouds than yesterday, which means that the winds have subsided more since yesterday too (max. ESE 14 kts), so we have the engine on continuously to keep making progress. On the plus side there are more stars visible at night time. The moon is late and will be getting up later each day. 300 miles done so far. We aim to arrive at West Caicos tomorrow just before dusk, to snatch a full nights sleep.

All is well on board, glad we pre-cooked meals as the seas are too rolly to cook a meal on the fixed stove top.

Cheers,

Geoff & Merel
