We took the double decker French train to Casa Port. As this was an unplanned visit we weren’t quite sure where we were (nowhere to get map) and even less so when we decided to enter the medina (a maze of tiny filthy alleys ) Still we eventually managed to find our way out and get a taxi to show us around the rest of Casablanca- most of which was a rather shabby sprawling place contrasting with a swish palm lined Corniche leading to some very expensive houses, new shopping malls and the obligatory Golf course all completed in the last 20 years.  The highlight for me was going up the old French 1914 lighthouse with a rather cheeky lad on tow. No alcohol here....would Humphrey Bogart recognise The Blue Parrot (Ricks Place) down by the port?
