TRIP exactly 400nm on arrival in Gibraltar

Arrived at  Marina Bay,Gibraltar at 1230, which is a stone’s throw from the Gib’s short runway and as it was Monday morning we were entertained with several jets landing and taking off and then the two resident forces jets screaming off as well. Immediately Ted arrived to fit the Hydro vane – all the back cabin and lockers were again emptied as a very agile Ted (his 17th hydrovane fitted) manoeuvres into the aft locker to drill holes through to fit the sturdy bit of equipment. This will steer by aligning itself with the wind and will also double up as a jury rudder should it be needed. Quite a few boats in the marina have them.
