Sat 14 June Safe and comfy here, so stay put. Explore Kastos ashore

Sun. Clouds over a bit for a couple of welcome hours

Bad night for mozies. Will engage defences tomorrow. Scrambled eggs on toast for breky, as a couple of casualties from yesterdays exciting sail had to be used up. Long morning walk to just short of N end of island. Much livestock wandering, cows, sheep and goats. Call in at minimarket/breadshop flying Greek flag plus two NZ flags. (The proper one with the red S cross stars, and the ferny one.) Owner part NZ, and didn`t know England playing 2nd match  down under, and leading at half time, as we speak (but go on to lose 28-27.)Get back on board just in time for booked skype as Ma`s birthday. Need to chat before large contingent of Irish relys, and rest of Devon gang, descend. Sorry to hear Jen still not great. Hope recent painful jab will have done the trick. Afternoon walk to SW end of island, and quay we used on Good News some years ago. Quay now used for landing building materials, and hay. Pass Chef Johns on way back, looking for a beer, but no john or anyone else about, so continue to favourite Windmill Restaurant, and have two there to make up. Served with complimentary popcorn! Would prefer crisps or nuts, but make do.  Stunning views E to mountainous mainland as sun sets W behind us. Remarkably few boats in tonight. Changeover day, so all flotillas and bareboats in port? It can`t get better than this. Meet Alain and Anne from Odyssee on quay, who literally “wintered” in Messolonghi. They only went home for a couple of weeks. Have been out here 10 years now. Magnificent day, peaceful evening. Brill.
