A bit of a lie in. Frenchy kindly gets bread for us. Girls look around shops; skip gets tips on anchorages from Frenchy, as he circles the Peloponnisos each year (clockwise) and knows where good to go, and where good to avoid. Textbook reverse off and kedge retrieval. Put in two reefs straight away and turn engine off. Fast zigzag downwind sail at 5/6knts to arrive at graveyard “marina” on island of Trazonia. Large fixed concrete marina pontoons completed, giving excellent shelter in this windy area, some years ago, probably EU funded, but no other infrastructure. Looks as tho money ran out and everything was just left. Sadly “marina” is now 2/3rds full of derelict boats, many with UK ports, just left there one winter and owners never return. One boat capsized and sank. No one seems to be in charge, no fees collected when we were there, so no funds to tidy up. Annonyingly it is such a pretty island with lovely tavernas by locals port , paths that wind thro olive groves and a carpet of colourful wild flowers. There would be so much more room for visiting yachties, and more custom for the tavernas, if the decaying hulks were removed. We stayed two nights, safely tied up alongside one quay, as wind blew hard for 48hrs. Got dongle working to pick up forecasts and spotted a brief early morning lull before f7s & 8s returned, which would keep us here for several more daysGr
