19 September Long motor across due W to Emerald Bay for swim, big Bav joins us, then squeeze in beside big cat at Mongonisi for night and walk to Gaios for gang evening meal

Arrive Mongonisi 1730 19nm 

S, N, then ENE f3 for last hour

 

Fairly early start.19 degrees in cabin at dawn. Motor sail on George in v light breeze. Decent sail for last 5 miles. Lots of swimming, but sea cooler. Jane needs reviving with hot chocolate – not used since canals, so powder slightly off. Still works! Big Bav arrives. Easy to spot as yellow patch at top of mast– wondering where they were as no answer to txts. More swimming. Motor couple of miles to Mongonisi (big Bav goes to Gaios town quay). V little room on quay as flotilla of Dutch already there. Big 60ft cat parked with some space either side, so head in. Friendly Greek live aboards to port. Couple of v big Austrian bellys to stbd. 45min hike along road to Gaios for drinks on big Bav and excellent meal out. Getting chilly. Pleasant walk back. Looks like Austrians drinking started early and crew already in bed. Peaceful on board D`fly, thank goodness
