Strömstad     58:56.088N  11:10.090E

 

A great sailing day with a lovely beam reach up Koster fjoden.  There was clearly some regatta in progress as we sailed through a fleet of beautiful gaff rigged cutters and ketches.  Decided to take the north channel into Strömstad harbour - which was lucky as a massive ferry appeared and dominated the south channel.  We arrived around 2pm, so many of the Gästhamn spaces were taken with small motor boats and dingys - day trippers.  We circled a couple of times and then got a good, if snug, alongside berth.  The it was shopping (especially for wine and beer), haircut and deck washing - before trying out the new pushpit barbeque on some lubb (firm white fish) and fresh langoustine straight from the fishing quay.  We have spent all our Swedish kröner - so tomorrow its off to Norway
