Let the rebuilding of Anglo-French relations begin! I bring glad tidings that the skipper loves our latest location Les Saintes even though it's French. There's hope yet for a diplomatic resolution for the post-Martinique leg of the trip.

We had a fine sail up from Dominica with a dry run on the "fish aboard" procedure as we heard the glorious sound of the reel spinning out. My mind was reeling with the prospect of sushi tuna or sashimi swordfish. Ah hem! Rather sheepishly, having had the skipper and the rest of the crew bring the boat to a crashing halt in rather bumpy waters, I produced a clump of seaweed. Stay positive! The journey also marked Ford's introduction to heavy helming.

I think the reason for the successful rebuilding of relations is largely down to a fine fish restaurant where we're sitting now called Le Genois. We had a fine light lunch there (light in order to be able to go for a run in the afternoon — which we did!. Now we're back there with tunes humming through our heads after a musical session on board.
