Set off with Ed planning to get to Castletownsend 30 miles down the coast but a stiff south westerly right on the nose meant it was hard going so decided to shorten and call in at Courtmacsherry for the night. Very narrow channel with a strong tide and challenging to anchor off the village. We were about to give up and anchor out in the bay when a very helpful fisherman shouted over that we could use his mooring for the night which was perfect even though still challenging to tie up to with 3-4 knots of tide running. Very good dinner on board and Ed happy  to be in Ireland. None of us fancied a 6 hour bash to windward in a short sea - right decision.
