Departed Galway at 5 this afternoon, all itching to get going, some strong W/SW winds forecast so we are sailing with storm main up to save changing in poor conditions. 40nM down course , logged 53 and at mo doing 7.3k 305 deg in about 22k wind from SW. About 4m swell but no slamming and we cooked a proper meal this evening. Just established our watch system 2+3 at night and 3+3 during daylight hours, Graham has just taken up first watch and I am heading for my bunk. Some rain but remarkably clear between showers.
