About 2300UTC the wind shifted to SE about 15k and we doused the poled out portside genoa. By 0600 UTC we were down to half a genoa and 2 reefs in the main - we havent had a reef in for months! Got a series of squalls, a couple accompanied by really heavy rain with winds of 25 - 30k anywhere from SW through E; so we had a busy night. All is now back to relative tranquility with at mo 14k from SE and almost clear skies but swell has got up quite a bit, probably 2.5m or so, hopefully temporarilly as we are rolling quite uncomfortably and to such an extent that we are sailing on one genny as the poled out one has been taken down as it was spending far too much time having a bath. I am actually having some difficulty hitting the right keys and lunch will be something cold and easy. Didnt see any of this coming. Still we did 177nM run in last 24 so every cloud.....
