Weather abated yesterday and so we departed Cork late afternoon arriving here in Bantry Bay about 2pm. Anchored in lee of Whiddy Island looking across the harbour to Bantry itself. Had a great sail, hard on the wind to Mizen Head passing between Fastnet and Cape Clear. Seemed very odd not going around the rock and heading to Plymouth! Must have got our sea legs as we both slept Ok last night despite quite lively conditions and both stood our watches without any problems. Winds were up to around 20k from SSW / SW with a good 3-4 metre swell. Once around Mizen though got much gentler, wind and sea and this morning was lovely gently poodling up the bay towards Bantry, criossants and bacon breakfast in the cockpit!

Just downloaded the latest GRIBS and all looks good till at least Easter Monday, so might stay here tomorrow; we both fancy explring on foot. Graham is just inflating the dinghy and intend to sample the delights of Bantry this evening.
