Departed Newtown early this morning on the last of the west going tide and got halfway across Bournemouth Bay before it turned foul. Overcast day with not much wind, just about enough to sail. As it was so calm we put into Lulworth but only stayed half hour as the swell was surprisingly uncomfortable and there were already too many yachts anchored with more arriving. Motored the last few miles into Portland harbour and anchored up with Chesil beach as a backdrop.

 

Had a glorious walk yesterday across the Newtown marshes with plenty of wildlife doing their bit and ended up at the New Inn, Shalfleet to recover and stayed for an early evening meal and very nice it was too.
