Tonight is the big fancy dress party with a cartoon character theme - suggestions are NOT required. But is does lead us nicely to today's topic - light bulbs. Sadly, however, our light bulb has gone off rather than on.

The really good and exciting thing about boats is that you are never quite sure what is going to fail/break/fall off/disintegrate, next.

Yesterday it was the turn of the lighting dept when a routine check of the nav lights indicated that our 5 year trouble free LED masthead tricolor had aged extremely rapidly and decided that it's five years was up. It is/was, as you will, of course, have already guessed a sealed unit which has to be replaced in its entirety, with a quite impressive death grip on its mounting. As you will also have guessed, none are available in Spain - not even for  'ready money'. It really does make you wilde.

So, necessity being the mother of invention, we are proceeding with a hastily conceived "what to do when the lights go out" plan - I'm sure there is a Vera Lynn reference in there somewhere.

Allden and Roger, who arrived on Moday bearing bits, are rising magnificently to the challenge whilst the owner is reading about Winnebago's and looking at mid West real estate on the internet.

Switching off for now.
