Massive but kindly Atlantic seas. We have had a good 48 hours of fairly solid 20Kt winds with occasional squalls. Last night was a truly magical full moon over a glassy sea with good steady wind - a real joy to be alive. We are barrelling along at between 6 and 10 knots gybing to avoid squalls like some massive game of draughts (eh!). It is getting warmer now; no jackets on night watch but still a light jersey. No motoring yet; except to avoid a collision with a 62 foot cat which seemed to have none on watch - on examination it was called “Spirit of Adventure”  and has a Polish crew - Hmmm.

We haven’t even started to make a dent in the VAST quantity of food we embarked at Gran Canaria, but the chefs have been doing an epic job with delicious lunches and suppers. Andrew Cumming and Clive Ross have produced fabulous culinary delights and this morning Willy Earp served scrambled egg and smoked salmon from the prodigious stock he very kindly supplied. So I will be skinnier than ever upon my return at this rate!
