It is Sunday morning 12th March 2017 - we are forging along through ocean at about 9.2 knots [sometimes 10.6 and later 8.5 - but no less than that]. The sea is fairly calm bearing in mind the wind almost constant at about 18 - 20 knots. We have about 0.9 - 1.5 knots of positive current.

WE HAVE JUST SAILED OUR RECORD DAY OF 201 NAUTICAL MILES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD.

We are now crossing the Amazon delta - the water isn’t brown out here but we are 200 miles off the coast.

Our routine is working well and we are together most of the day and all meals and we split up the night as it suits us. There are 300 miles to go until we pass, or decide to stop at, French Guyana.

We have nice fresh Brazilian coffee in the mornings - ahhhhh!

We still remember the Carnival in Recifé.

We have decided not to fish as the fish out here are big and with just the two of us we couldn’t eat that much fish so we would waste most of it - better left where they are is our logic.
