We went ashore on Lombok having been picked up in a long boat water taxi with twin outriggers.

The team was in optimistic mood.
.
We visited the local market - charming but I didn’t fancy the chopped chicken pieces or the prawns an cut fish counter. The market had a somewhat noisome odour and the floors were packed mud with open drains running through the the market. Probably all fine but not hugely appetising.

We took horse drawn carriages to the pottery,  Watched by adoring crowds who had probably never seen anything so comic before - shades of John Cleese.

The heavens decided that it was time for a tropical downpour - thank God we closed the hatches and windows in the boat before we left.
The resourceful guides had some plastic sheets - The girls did a Cancan - see Marybeth 5th from left.
