Title: Halfway around the world!

32:25.2S 175:52E

Yesterday afternoon around 2:30 pm, Caramor crossed 176.4E degrees of longitude. This is halfway around the Earth in longitude from Caernarfon Dock!
The exact opposite is in the southern ocean, a long way south-east of New Zealand, so we may not be going there!

We’ve come a long way since Franco and Caramor set sail from Caernarfon on 12th April 2014.

Our passage to New Zealand is going well. After our first two fairly rough days, we have enjoyed perfect sailing; a beam reach under sunny skies. The temperature has steadily been dropping and we’ve been doing night watches in full waterproofs.

Unfortunately we are now down to 6 knots of wind and are no longer making much progress and the weather forecast is for no winds for days. Reluctantly we may have to ‘hoist the iron genny’.
