Title: The day we lost forever

18:41.76S 173W

It was Sunday, night was falling and Franco and I sat on the benches on either side of the cockpit. Both seats were comfortable because we were sailing downwind with our sails goosewing (main on one side and genoa on the other).

We waited.

Nothing ominous happened, there were no flashing lights, no thunderous sounds, not even a change of air pressure, in fact in appearances all was as it had been an instant ago, before we crossed the imaginary line, except we had lost a whole day. It was now Monday evening and I would be going to bed soon while Franco would take his watch.

A whole Monday of unfulfilled potential had passed us by. Surely this was the day I became enlightened or won the lottery? The day Franco met a beautiful mermaid or made a great invention? but it was too late, that time had vanished forever.
