Back in Cusco, football fever was running high. Peru was playing Colombia and if they won they would qualify for the World Cup.

A large screen had been erected in the main square and the fans were gathering

The police had swapped their yellow fluo gloves for more nationalistic ones

Peruvian dog (they have no fur) with Peruvian flag painted on its back

Franco and I headed out of town to visit Inca ruins or 'some fine stones' as Franco puts it.

Peru didn't win.
