Landing at Cape Town Airport we picked up a hire car that was to see a fair few miles added to the clock.  Back at the boat all seemed in good order which was handy as the following day we were out of the marina and across to the Royal Cape Yacht Club to be slipped for the day so that we could change the Amel sail drive bearing and oil seals.  This was somewhat of a novelty as it was the first time that we had been hauled up a slipway.

David from Action Yachting carried out the work and I passed the tools and gave consultancy advice.  All finished and cleared away we splashed at 1530 in time to fill with fuel from the adjacent fuel dock before we returned to our berth in the waterfront marina

There are not many slips in the world with a view like this

The following day John and Jenny Franklin together with Port Officer Robert Ravensburg organised an Ocean Cruising Club outing to the Constantia Glen Winery for a tasting followed by an excellent lunch at the Groot Constantia Vineyard.

Wine tasting in a fabulous setting, and near perfect weather, at Constantia Glen

Groot Constantia, founded in 1685, is the oldest vineyard in the Cape

Lunch provided the opportunity a second time round for the presentation of our OCC award, photography failed the first time in Richards Bay.  Tom Partridge and his fiancé Susie also received their award for the first time
