EXCELLENT PRODUCE GAN

Caduceus took delivery of superb fresh fruit and vegetables and eggs yesterday evening.  Delivered to the anchorage at the Gan Causeway.  It is the best produce we have seen since getting to the Maldives and brought directly to us.

The source is a very pleasant chap called MULLA who came highly recommended and was used by cruisers last year.

I telephoned him Tuesday evening and introduced myself and he sent me his email by SMS so that I could email him my list.  This was delivered yesterday afternoon.  He could not get any lettuce but hopes to bring them to us when we go ijnhto Feydhoo Dock for fuel on Saturday.

I have said that I will be passing his name onto other cruisers so do mention us when you call him. Some of his produce he gets from Male and some from farms here in Addoo.

THE EQUATOR VILLAGE RESORT

We had a great day yesterday at the Equator Village Resort, Gan.  For $60 you can rent a room for the day.  The rooms are very nice with air conditioning and super modern bathrooms.  You can use all the facilities, which includes a squash court and tennis courts and a great swimming pool.  The meals are reasonable in cost and a full bar is available.  Buffet dinner is $18.  Ok it is not Michelin Star but very acceptable; beer and glasses of wine $5.  They also have a dive shop but we did not use this. The bar and dining room was the officers mess for RAF Gan until 1976 and it has definitely been decorated and revamped since then.
