An early morning start saw us motoring into Ao Chalong Bay just in time to meet a veritable flotilla of tripper boats off for a day out.  No rule of the road here and not much given in the way of quarter.  It appears that the more noise your engine makes and the bigger the wash the more your right of way.

We were able to take advantage of the tripper boats absence by using one of their moorings and were back on the boat having launched the dinghy, gone ashore and cleared and returned and stowed the dinghy by 1100.  It was all very efficient and on a Sunday morning to.  It helped to have completed the forms on line otherwise we would have had to do that at their terminals on arrival.  You do not require copies of the online forms as the officials print the forms off, you do however require three copies of the boat registration document and of each person's passport.  In terms of fees there was a standard 300 Baht which was at Immigration and made up of 100 plus 200 and I am not sure what the split was about as the receipt is in Thai.  Customs would have been free of charge except that it was Sunday and they have a standard fee of 800 Baht that is on a printed notice.  We had no issues with anyone requesting a “favour” and all seemed very efficient and charming.
