Days Run- 146.2nm – 143nm over the ground

Plotting forward revealed that the current in the Cape Cod Canal changes in our favour at 0200 Saturday morning and that if we slowed down a little we could time our arrival for that time and miss Block Island and an overnight stop in Buzzards Bay.

The morning saw winds of not very much from the south east but a wind shift in the afternoon allowed us to sail at a suitable speed to make our timings for the Canal. By midnight it was looking good for our 0200 rendezvous with the changing current.
