Sines to Portimao was a long sailing day. Left Sines early in the morning(0800 hs) knowing it was going to be a long journey.
Not much wind at the beginning but once we entered the Algarves area in the afternoon, wind started to pick up reaching 15 knots.
See below picture taken by our friends Fellina. Can sailing go any better than this? 15 knots coming fm 140 degrees ,blue sky and the most beautiful sail my pocket can afford!!!!
We spent abt 7 days in these 2 holiday spots, while myself had to go to Uk again for 3 days.
The first 2 days we anchored in Portimao, used our dinghy to go to town.
Old little town with great beach. Marina with fantastic facilities.
Continued to meet interesting people who had been sailing for years(one dutch couple sailed for 10 years!!).
After 2 days we had a big front coming and swell was too much for anchoring any longer so we decided to go to a Marina and 2 days afterr we left to Vilamoura.
I flew the next morning while Miriam and the kids had a great time .
First they went to A Dolphin park
Karen had the opportunity to swim with them while Alexander was not allowed(too small) but he was picked by the staff to help in one of the shows where he was in a small boat carried by a dolphin.
Then the rain came for day and a half. More shopping…..
Vilamoura marina and beach pictures
Alexander eating soup.See his sporty watch….
Marina Vilamoura in the back
At the beach
Thai restaurant before we departed to Gibraltar
Guess who is taking all the pictures?? See below…
But this one was taking by me...
