Hi all

Arrived in Madeira last Sunday after 6 days at sea. Should have taken 5 but poor weather took us off track. Anyway here we are. Madeira is incredibly hilly and takes ages to travel around. The farmers have to climb down their fields before working the land and do not return to the top and their farmhouse for several days because it’s so steep. They also have to keep their cows in a shed to stop them falling off the farm!

It’s so green everywhere and the sea so blue.

In the capital Funchal they offer toboggan vehicles to get down the mountain.
