November was spent travelling up the Malacca Straits to the top of Malaysia at Langkawi Island.  Unlike past trips up and down the Straits, we took it slowly and stopped at a number of places.

Port Dickson Marina:

We fixed a burnt out anchor winch motor in Port Dickson (this is supposed to be a sealed unit - obviously it
is not as well sealed as the manufacturer thought):

The manufacturers, Quick of Italy, sent another one to us in Langkawi so we now have a spare.

Pangkor Laut (all the taxis are pink):

Shopping for dried seafood.  Just about anything that swims is here, dried, and used to flavour fried rice and noodles:

The bridge connects Penang Island and Butterworth on the mainland:

Under the bridge with room to spare:

Penang Marina, right down town next to the ferry terminal:

The bridge is further south, so the ferries still do great business:

One of the older streets in Georgetown, Chulia St.:

Temple on Chulia St.

View of Georgetown from the top of the Peak railway:

David Brown's Cottage on the Peak:

Afternoon tea at the Cottage: scones, jam, cream and fruitcake, tea for me and a mango and strawberry
smoothie for Sandra:

Looking down the cable railway from the top station

An intermediate station:

Passing tracks:

Leaving Penang..fishing boats racing to the next shoal of fish:

Anchored at one of the southern islands in the Langkawi group:

Princess Lake on Pulau Bunting:

The lake is right behind us, so its very close to the sea:

Moving on, heading for the main island of Langkawi:

Eagle looking for breakfast:

The navies here...16 ships from 4 nations:

In the marina at Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, so we can stock up on duty free grog:
