The Straits of Messina. Bondi Tram did not get caught in any
whirlpools, but there were numerous
ferries to dodge.

Entering the harbour at Siracusa in a thunderstorm. Siracusa turned
out to be one of our
favourite anchorages. This was the place that Archimedes lived
in...until killed by Roman soldiers
when they stormed the town.

to eavesdrop on prisoners kept in the catacombs below.
