The first day of the crossing was characterized by brisk wind and no wind.
In the channel between Sao Vicente and Sao Antao we had sustained wind of 32 kts with gust to 35 kts.
Then as soon as we reached the west leeward side of Sao Antao the wind died to 5-6 kts with variable directions.
Only after motoring out 17 NM away from the peak of Sao Antao the winds come back at 26 kts and it stayed with us during the night.
This morning winds are down to 22 kts and the sea is calming down too.

Tomorrow we will probably jibe keeping a more SW course and avoid the calm that grib files shows along the current rhumb line few days ahead.

We are still uncertain about our final destination. If we can make Antigua for New Years Eve, we will probably try to celebrate the new year on land, otherwise we might head directly for Virgin Gorda and her beach.
