It is Mark’s birthday today and we are anchored between two beautiful deserted islands in Las Perlas.

Mark is wearing his new pink, designer swimming trunks and enjoying all the birthday radio calls and e-mails.

Paul, Derry, Jack & Amy arrived by dinghy for breakfast with balloons and chocolate and a ‘Jackamy’ T shirt, on the back

It says :-

‘ 70% of the world is water – SAIL’

We are planning to have a barbeque on the beach late afternoon with some of the other rally boats that have arrived here too.

I have baked a cake( a bit lopsided and not one of my better creations) and prepared some chicken kebabs and fresh potato

salad and the wine is on chill ready to spoil him !

Kirsty asked Amalia to sing Happy Birthday to Granddad and she rolled her eyes, shrugged her shoulders and said ‘ But where is the cake ?’

It is paradise here, lovely fine, white sandy beaches scattered with pretty pink shells. Yesterday evening we swam to the nearest beach and

had a wander along the sand and this morning we dinghied to another and walked across the deserted island to a beautiful beach on the other side, not even

accessible by boat, where we went swimming.
