We're within just a few days now. After hearing the news that some friends
are in Nuku-Hiva, we decided to point our bow a little further west and
check in there instead of Hiva Oa. It'll be good to have a bit of a welcome
party after the slow passage. Plus, at least one of their boats is bound to have a
fridge. COLD BEER!!!

It looks like we might be able to drop the hook in Taiohae bay the day after
tomorrow, but if it looks like we won't make it until after dark, we'll slow
down and wait for the next morning. It is a pretty easy, open bay to get
into... but still, I would rather not risk putting moony on the rocks. Yeah,
we'll play it safe.

With this little course change we were able to fall off enough to warrant
poling out the jib. There's a pretty short, confused sea, so the boat rocks
and rolls. The sails slat and fill a bit, but at least with the jib poled
and the main prevented they can't move around too much or chafe on the
rigging.

OK, that's about all I've got for now. We'll let you know when we get
through customs and try to post some pictures once we get connected to a
wifi network.
