On day one of our Mekong Delta tour we spent time on tourist boats going from Can Thou City to Turtle and Dragon Islands, up a tiny tributary to a village and an hour or so on the main river. We saw a man chest deep in water fishing. We saw huge amounts of laundry hanging out, or is that their al fresco linen cupboard ??? shops, trades and so much teak (would love to drag a trunk back to Beez Neez. Some of the ramshackle dwellings we assumed were beyond habitable were indeed still in use and very much lived in (even in the next picture we could see someone pottering about in the ‘kitchen’). Sadly, we saw huge amounts of rubbish. A trip to remember.
