The horse and cart journey here was not too bad once we had done the muddy ravine, after a taxi had broken down at the bottom and had to be pushed out with much orchestration from our driver. We left our hard working pony, Nanya to rest and our driver to get his feathers smoothed....... We bimbled up a steep slope and this monastery felt different. A modern affair has been built next door but this old one felt regal and somewhat special. We walked all over the site, found a spot to take a picture of the bridges over the Irrawaddy, I love the one I call Buddha and the Backsack, we enjoyed all the outbuildings and genuinely liked exploring the grounds.
