First New Tap

My old filter water tap lays quietly next to my new one.

Last night the rain hammered and the thunder and lightning was quite spectacular, our first rainstorm since we got back. Today began like a steamroller. Soon after Bear got up, Sig called to say that he would take him to the wood shop and hardware store. Off they went. I settled to spreadsheet our forthcoming expenses, write a blog and sort my drawers out. A mighty job. Steady. Sara dropped by and after she left I could hear Timmy mewing, so down I went with half a tin of tuna mixed with some cornflakes to give a little crunch. Bear got back having been to loads of shops and shortly after the wood was delivered. He remembered my sheet of plywood and glue for me to make new window shades. Teh, (Mr Sails) came and took away the yankee genoa and main for inspection. The yard boys found a table for Bear to use as a workbench. Finally, he could settle to fitting one my four new taps.

Gorgeous new tap. Just look at my poorly main tap with its ‘temporary’ (since just before leaving Thursday Island.........) piece of hose. Patience is surely a virtue, I’ll get on to it on the morrow. Time to cook carbonara. No, the gas wouldn’t light. Oh, we have run out completely. My, that’s never happened before. It took ages to cook the spaghetti in three minute sessions in the microwave (a first for me), then the bacon and add the sauce but needs must and all that. Yet another five four loss at backgammon and I was really growling. I cut it incredibly fine and won by a squeak. Squeak off before I hurt you. Shower time at sunset.
