Family Crabbing in Padstow

We all left Newquay and were soon settled for some traditional crabbing.

Cunning crustaceans would allow themselves to be pulled up a little way – then simply let go.

After two hours we only had one crab in our bucket. Rachel had scoped out the other side of the harbour “there are loads of buckets with lots of crabs. We all moved en masse.

We changed to weighted nets on strings and a thrilled Kaiser caught his first crab, sheer delight.
