After our lighthouse visit our boat skipper moved us nearby to snorkel. Hundreds of feet getting on and off so many tour boats obviously scruffed up much sand so visibility was, as to be expected, a bit cloudy. Initial shock at how much dead and damaged coral gave way to the explorer needing to find something.

The lighthouse, but things to see – a huge pair, nine inches from tip to toe.

They gave me the once over and glided about their business.

Just two clams, no worms and not a sniff of a soft coral.

Then we saw something big shoot off to hide, just a nose peeking out.

After a very long wait we were fortunate to see all eighteen inches of shy boy.

Off he went again, pity we couldn’t put a hand near to show his size – no way, far too skittish. A blenny then wanted our attention.

We did see one area of new growth.

A group of young parrots off to explore.

Always a joy to see something different.

Then a school outing shot by.

Poking my head up I saw a streak of lightning and a storm threatening – time to go.

ALL IN ALL MUCH REEF DAMAGE WITH INTERESTING BITS AND BOBS
A LITTLE DISAPPOINTING BUT BEAUTIFUL, BIG FISH
